Maryland's Who's who!
Maybe I missed where someone said, but what's the event at BH Sunday that will force them to close the park? Thanks in advance.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey all, I have a friend who lives in Florida and look what he caught a couple days ago. He doesn't even know how big it was but it broke his 50# scale. I just hate him sometimes...

Congrats to Brian on the Tourney and to Ken on the excellent fish!

Maryland's Who's who!
Allen, Eric and Nick thanks for the replies and all the info. Wow, I feel like I'm on my way now. Eric, wait there's more to know?! I love the casting suggestions and will definitely give these a shot when I get a rig. For a minute I was just gonna go with the right hand but I've been know to switch the handle on my spinning reels to left and thought I preferred that although lately I've conformed to RH in case the family needs to handle them to reduce the need to switch them back and forth. Since the baitcaster would be something only I would use I shouldn't have to worry about sharing. Nick thanks so much for the offer. I'll get with you in a little bit on it. Heading off to get some Z's.

Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks Boett43, I'll check the local one to see if they have it and if it'll work.

Maryland's Who's who!
Nick and Kevin, thank you both for your input! One more question, should a right handed person like myself buy the RH version of the reel?

Maryland's Who's who!
You guys may have just coaxed me into picking one up. Can anyone tell me what a decent starter rig should cost? I'd prefer it to be something I could grow into rather than have to replace as I improve. Also perhaps what the minimal bearing count and a good all purpose gear ratio would be. Or anything else that should be considered? Thanks in advance!

Maryland's Who's who!
It's quiet in here today. I hope you guys are on the water. My wife is due back in tonight after being out of the country for two weeks. So that means I had one day to get all the cleaning done that should've been getting over the two weeks. So no fishing for me today. Maybe tomorrow bright and early...

Thanks to Sean, BIll and NIck for your help. I don't know what changed, but it finally appears for me. You'll notice my new sig. Before I just had Display Name and then Ignore directly below it.

Maryland's Who's who!
A little off topic... Can anyone presently access the signature page? Especially any of the newer guys? Sean tried to help me locate it but I'm still not seeing it and I'm starting to wonder if it's just not showing up for me. Thanks, Kevin Got it! Thanks to all.

Maryland's Who's who!
Right I guess I can't always count on Super Nick to swoop in and save the day! Bummer. So it's not just an inside joke, Nick did just that one day. I had a new lipless crankbait (Sebile Flatt Shad, which I love) get caught on some braid in the water and couldn't free it up. He came over and cast his braided line out caught mine and pulled it in and the one it was attached to! We figured the other line mine have been 30#. So the moral of the story is 65# trumps 30#! See Bill, my sacrifice paid off! Congratulations on your PB! That is a beauty for sure. Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
Bill I think we've all been that guy and on more than one occasion! That certainly was me on my last outing. I was lucky enough to get one of them back. I'll chalk it up as a sacrifice made to the fishing gods! Hopefully you guys will reap the rewards today. Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
Wow, what a day on the water and this following your success the other day! St. Patty's day is gone, but here I sit green with ***. Great day on the water and thanks for sharing. I for one don't mind all the detail one bit. Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
I hit Black Hills today for about 90 minutes. Stopped at Wal-mart first and picked up a couple silver Rat-L traps. Went over by the sticks and caught probably the tiniest non-fry size LMB I've ever seen. Couldn't have been more than 9 inches long and so skinny it looked like a dart. He hit on a 1/2 oz Rat-L trap and somehow got 2 hooks on 1 treble in his mouth. He gave me a good little thrill though and hit as soon as the lure entered the water and then I didn't feel much as I reeled in. Freed him up, thanked him and sent him on his way. Stayed a little bit longer and lost one of my lures and eventually called it a day. Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey Nick! That was definitely me, also good to see you on here. I guess I should've known a lot of the local bassers are on here since Ken told me about the forum awhile back. Just now getting active on the forums as I'm starting to get out this year. I'll definitely see you around. Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
301 I really like that 2.5 Bluegill and had good success with it at BH last year. I think most people think I'm crazy when they see the size of it. For me though, it's bass or bust! Plus I've discovered that little bass are like little dogs, meaning they must not know they're little, cause I've caught some I thought had no business going for that lure! Kevin

Maryland's Who's who!
I love lipless cranks and spent the previous outing to the one I saw you guys throwing them to no avail. Everywhere I threw them I was just bringing back leaves and a little bit of green. Spent more time unplugging the things than fishing then. I like what Sean says about the bouncing it off the wood, seems like it would prevent the big splash I always think scares any fish in the immediate vicinity of where it lands but I would be concerned about getting caught on the wood.

Maryland's Who's who!
Wow, nice fish Sean! Glad to see someone catching from the banks. I've been out a couple times this year and have only managed 1 so far. I saw you out there when I was catching up with Ken for a minute. I can't wait to get dialed in. Maybe I'll see you out there.
