Heres two more of my personal baits i just did.

 

I have the water boiling for the boiled crankbait thread but I wont be able to test swim. The air temp is 8 degrees and the stream is a raging muddy mess.

Not a treble, but how about a Zonker for a trailer? I caught my PB with this, I call it a SpinHareBait...LOL

 

Jhoffman...nice ties.  I'd recommend if you are going to use necks instead of saddle hackle to pull your feathers higher up and outside on the neck.  These are softer.  Also, reverse your feathers so they flare outwards, that way they move on a pause.  Just a thought.  Otherwise, nice job on the trailers!  They'll catch em!

I have tried to tie my own feathered trebles for baits but can't seem to get a good product.  AND I am tired of the Gamakatsu carnage on my fingers...those things are SHARP!

 

Any tips? Or better yet....anyone interested in a small retainer to supply me with hooks? lol

 

I admit...I am cheap and don't want to buy all the nice little vises and things for fly tying.  I know, you can't fix a sink with a hammer (wait......that may work).

i tie my own trebles for jerkbaits and i couldnt do this with out my $20 vice lol, they can be fairly cheap, i cant tie my jigs and flies without it either so i suggest you invest in a cheap one it will help in the long run

You can buy a cheap vise for around 15 dollars and there are some good you tube vids on tying with out needing a drug store next door.

I would do that but keep in mind that this is my fly tying stock also so these necks the upper feathers are very small as theyre higher quality, were talking hackles for size 24 flies, it would look goofy.

 

I understand your theory on the flare also my thoughts when tying these a lot of the time is to make it sleek however a fishes tail does naturally flare. These feathers also lay very strait by nature, my thought is a prefer the sheen to show outwards from my background in tying streamers.

Very nice work in display guys!! I had not realized we had this much talent working around here.
