Thunderbird E-Mail Program

I am a relatively new user (couple of weeks) and have a bunch of mostly minor questions. No help has been forthcoming on the support newsgroup.

If any experienced user is willing to answer some questions, just reply and I'll PM my questions.

Thanks.

All I know is that Thunderbird is considered to be one of the only secure web-based mail programs, but I have not used it in over 7 years, so it may not be as good now.

I thought this was about the wine, and email. Sheesh.

I used thunderbird for years and it was the best for me.  There was an update some months ago and it doesn't work as well now, they automatically had deleted some emails.  Since then I have tried 4 or 5 popular email clients, only to go back to windows live which has been perfect for me, the only negative is log in time, about 30 seconds when it used to be immediate.

It's widely used by spammers, and blocked by many companies (including us).

Interesting, and new to me. Much of what I've read over the years led me to believe that when it came to browsers and e-mail, that Microsoft was the problem.
