Yup, you need to get up and moving asap, because there's a (remote) threat of a blood clot forming, which could cause some really serious problems.  Merely walking around mitigates the risk.  Laying around increases the risk.

 

My wife went through the same thing.  Spent a few days in the hospital, then a few more at home.  Was back to work the next week, and 100% 2 weeks later. 

I'm anti doctors and anti medicine in general but what ever juice they shot me up with last night was great lol dilotta(sp)? Something like that. I'll probably just do as they say though they said get up and move around asap afterwards as long as I'm not woozy from the narcotics.

Funny thing about meds.  They have different affects.  They can plug 'em up, or flush 'em out.

 

I'm pretty lucky in that regard, meds don't seem to bother my digestive system, except for the stuff they have you take prior to a colonoscopy.  Then, I have to make sure I'm no more than a few steps from the porcelain throne.

 

No kiddind! I've been put under several times for various reasons, three for colonoscopy or upper gi.  The anesthesia for all 3 produced MAJOR constipation and the other gave me a muscle ache/knot between my shoulder blades the size of a baseball. That sucker hurt with every breath i took. The ONLY thing that relieved it was a muscle relaxant (valium). Anal doctors must use some sort of alien anesthesia, lol.  

I'm out went smooth they said they didn't even give me any narcotics up stairs. I'm. Little sore by my one incision other then that feel fine I'll be up moving shortly I gotta pee lol all them fluids they pumped me with.

Congratulations on your outcome.  Do what they tell you and walk as much as you can, for some reason they want the hear bow sounds and have a movement, what's up with that anyways??????

Yeah I'm up moving around feel fine took 1 vicaden(sp) cuz it started to get a little uncomfortable. Just did some laps on the floor around the halls seen my old teacher from when I took allied health in highschool I wanted to be a anastesiaoligist but instead decided to fix cars not people lol. Hopefully they give me food soon last time I ate was 4pm Sunday and I puked all that up im hungry applejuice ain't cutting it.
