Is it ok to let your batteries charge inside of a house (laundry room), or do they give off gasses that are harmful if not outside in a garage or other ventilated area.  I know there are quite a few of you out there who have extensive knowledge on batteries so any advice on this would be very helpful.  I dont want to keep them out in the garage because it gets pretty cold up here in Illinois.

I literally just charged my batteries about 2 hours ago.  I wouldn't say I'm a battery expert, but here's my two cents.  I'm sure someone will get on me about the dangers and I'm not going to say whether to do it or not, but I do charge my batteries inside.  I do this in our extra bathroom downstairs in the basement with the vent running.  Since my batteries are pretty much fully charged, I only give them about 20 minutes at a 10 amp charge to get the juices moving on the inside of the batteries. Again... just my two cents.

I keep mine in the house in a closet during the winter. I haven't blowed up yet.
