Calvitron Buzzbaits ?

Featured Replies

Ive got a order from TW coming with some Calvitrons. Ive not had much luck with buzzbaits in the past, but its my own fault. Gonna give them a good work out this year, and wanted to know what line you all recommend, rod length, etc. I ordered 6 of the 3/8 0z,various colors,(maybe i should have got 1/4oz.?).

Also, what knot do you recommend? As you can see,my confidense in a buzzbait is lacking, but im going to change that! Thanks in advance.......... :Idontknow:

Balance your rod with the cavitron so that the spool on the reel stops when it hits the water.

If you want, you can start your retrieve right as or right before the bait hits the water.

Always add a trailer hook one size smaller than the cavitron's hook size.

Tie directly to the front of the bait.

After you get use to the bait get back with me so I can send you a way to rig the bait so you can use snaps and not interfer with the bait's action.

Don't know what colors you got but white; white/chartruse; and black are the basic colors.

Lilly pads and heavy cover may require braid, but generally

you can use what you like. Cavitrons and buzzbaits in general

don't require special line or knots. My suggestion, as usual, is

Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12.

Bobby, you are totally correct.

Send them all to me!!!!!

My PB came off the Cavitron Chartreuse. I'm using just 7' MH-F rod and 6.4 ratio reel. My line I use is 15# CXX.

I will also fish them in and around the openings of lily pads.
