Jerkbait Bassin

Featured Replies

Decided to try out a bait I've personally never fished before. Bought a KVD Slashbait in problue last week and have fished it a few days at a local pond. Im loving the way they hit it and will definitely be testing it out on some of the local lakes I fish at. here is a few of the bass I've caught on it the last few days.

Nice fish!  Ive never really fished a jerkbait either.  Maybe this will be the season.

Its a lure that can add alot of fish in the livewell in the winter and early spring.

You got the right color that's for sure notice how they are getting the front hook! Congrats

thanks guys. I've made it a goal of mine to try out new fishing techniques this year that I've never fished. I'll be fishing a jerkbait a lot more now thats for sure lol

go for it man...you wont be disappointed

I always, always, always have a jerkbait tied on one of my rods. spring and early fall are always best but it can be done on during the summer months. cadence is the key. slow and mean looooong pauses in cold water and quick erratic action in warm water. the clearer the water the better.

I like a lucky craft pointer or a an x rap

nice fish to man!

thanks man...yeah definitely have been pausing it for a few seconds with the water temps still being low...they have been smacking it so hard haha

Very nice man! I have been getting a few bass on the suspending jerks as well, Rick Clunn STX's to be exact. My girlfriend nailed her first bass on a baitcaster using an STX as well! Boy was she excited. I would post pics, but I'm not here to hijack your thread.

Keep tossing those jerkbaits! They are a blast, aren't they?

Her first bass on a baitcaster! She was all smiles after that. She was proud to have nailed a fish on my Citica.

Jessie's first baitcaster bass!

Same bass. Note the STX in Pearl White.

First suspending jerkbait bass

My first bass on a suspending jerkbait. I believe the color is Cosmic Shad.

Not nearly as big as yours, but fun all the same! Always nice to learn a new technique. Can't thank RoadWarrior enough for introducing me to these lures.

Nice job!!! The jerkbait is second only to a spinnerbait when it comes to my favorites and Rangerphil was spot on, when you are getting them on the front hook you are dialed in with size and color!!!  Don't fall into the spring and fall only with them, get some shallow diving floating style baits like a Rattlin' Rogue, Rapala Flat  Rap or Original Floater or high end with the new Spro McStick 115!! Fish them fast and erratic with quick 1 or 2 second pauses over shallow weed beds and flats and you'll be amazed at how well it works!!

Jerkbaits suck. Totally overrated as a bass bait. Especially in the spring or fall
