Reding this brings up the question what is a medium heavy bass rod?
There isn't a standard to measure rod ratings and every rod maker uses the ratings differently, even between models of the same manufacturers .
Here are the basics;
2 power = medium-light
3 power = medium
4 power = medium-heavy
5 power = heavy
6 power = extra heavy
7 power = XX heavy
How rods bend are rated ; slow or moderate for half parabolic bend or 1/2 the rods bends, fast for 1/3 of the upper rod bend, very fast for 1/4 of the upper rod bends before the lower half starts to bend.
All this is very subjective and dependent on the rod materials and rod guide placement.
Custom rod makers offer rods in 1/2 power increments to finely tune the rod to the user's specifications.

This is true for most rods except falcons the are about 2 powers off. Their 7 power is actually more like a 5 power. Their 5 power is closer to a 4 power.

Well, I'd advise you to pick one up at a local store if you are worried about this.  At least when you are at the store you can do a thorough check, as far as breakage and guides I haven't had any issues with mine.  I have used it pretty heavily last summer (4-5 times a week).  I used my 7'3" MH/F even for frogging in heavy vegetation and never had an issue pulling fish out.  If you don't want to take a chance, good alternative options were listed in the thread. 

the mojo bass is more than MH, its stiff and its not balanced very well

I work at a big local tackle retail store and we have tons of broken veritas come in each year, atleast 15+ every summer, no wonder people bash them!

Well, U would have to say my Blue NRX 893c, but I am guessing you are asking rods for about $100. For $100 I would not get a brand new rod. I would look for a used Powell Max/Endurance, Shimano Cumara, St. Croix Avid, etc.. Your money will go much further and the quality of rods is much better at those levels. 

Try to purchase rods with life time warranties, they cost a little more and last a very long time. Avoid rod makers who charge you to return their rods and keep in mind shipping long rods is expensive, if you can't return the rod to a local dealer.

Returning the Loomis NRX for example will cost you $100, something to consider when paying $525+ tax for each rod; great rod with terrible return policy!

I agree with WRB, I buy rods with lifetime over the counter warranty, also many of my rods are bought at a local bait and tackle where the service is more personalized and they will bend over backwards to please you.  Luckily I have yet to advantage of a warranty as a rod has never broke.  I have replaced guides but that is an inexpensive repair with a quick turn around time.

 

I have quite a few mh rods, they are not all created equal.  Mh is going to vary between manufactures, I pay a bit more attention to lure weights than I do line weights.  I have 10/20 mh with lure wt max 1 oz, and others max 2 oz or so, do they handle larger fish, I don't know as I've caught the same fish on both rods.

I consider myself a value guy.  I always try to get the most for my money.

 

That being said my favorite rod right now is my *** *** MH.  Have it rigged up as my texas rig rod and its been fantastic.  Especially for 100 bucks!  2nd favorite after that would be the BP carbonlite.  I also have a veritas... Just gave it to my buddy.  Fishes more like a heavy IMO and the sensitivity wasnt as good as the two aforementioned rods IMO.  TBH I've always felt the Veritas rods were a bit over rated.

Hands down the new Cumara line. 7' 2" MH/XF worm/jig. Wow....all i can say!
