really jig fishing and worm fishing are the same, just a different bait, the ways of fishing them really are the same, for me anyway. a t-rig'd worm is pretty much a skirtless jig ;/

Agree and disagree at the same time. Although you can fish them somewhat the same they are pretty different to.  I mean they are as different as a worm and a cray fish or a worm and a blue gill.  I have been fishing with a black and blue t-rig and not gotten a single bite and switch to a black and blue jig and absolutely murder them. The fish only know what they want and how they want it.

Little differences can mean catching and not catching fish.

I went out yesterday and threw a watermelon magic stik o weightless. Once I got dialed it, that worm was killer, I caught five bass and one was a solid 5.5 lbs. I also caught all 5 bass on the same worm and it is still in one piece today. I was very happy.

I think a lot of baits go through that cycle.

 

For example: I couldn't tell you the last time I heard a Senko mentioned at a tournament

but you know they still catch tons of fish.

 

Agree re: cycle. I happen to fish worms all the time still. For me it is about catching (well, not so far in 2013... ) and worms do it the best in my book.

depends on water clarity and what works on your lake.

If the water is clear, I throw watermelon. If it is stained, green pumpkin. If it is muddy, black and blue. I mainly use the 7" but in muddy water I'll go up to the 10".

yeah that was a pretty incomplete thought on my part, they are the same and different, but I guess I meant more about technique.....still 'hungover' from moving this weekend.
