Pinnacle Q's

Featured Replies

Does Pinnacle have a model with a similar palm-size as the Core/Chronarch 50 series of Shimano?

Who makes Pinnacle reels?  The latter is more out of curiosity since no one ever asks anything on Pinnacle reels.

The Optimus XLT fits the bill. This will be my second season fishing this reel.

I have been VERY impressed and consider it a great value. The gold finish

will surprise even the most finicky fisherman. There is not a single blemish

on this reel which cannot be said of any other equipment I own! It's truely

amazing.

In terms of performance, I feel the reel is comparable in every way to the Core.

Thanks for the recommendation.  I like the smaller size of the 50 series so wanted to try others as well.  Looks like they don't offer the XLT yet in lefty, so I'll have to hold off until they come out with one.  :(  Bummer, as it looks pretty gorgeous.

I have an XLT. Seems like a pretty decent reel for the money (I haven't used it much yet). The spool size is pretty different on the 50 size reels if that plays a factor.

Unfortunately they are not offering anything in left handed as of yet.  That was a topic of discussion at the booth during the Classic, hopefully something can be done about it in the near future.

Thats some high praise. I agree their nice looking...Can it hang with the core on the light stuff?

I know my Optimus X and Xi both cast light stuff really well.  I was amazed at how far I was able to cast my Bomber Square-A.

I just now noticed that on all their other reels; ouch.  Did they say anything at the booth that would imply that's going to change?

Unfortunately not at this time.  I was working in the booth and there were more than a handful of disappointed lefties out there.  Hopefully sometime in the near future lefties will get a chance to use the awesomeness that is the Optimus line of reels.

I read once from the shimano rep that right hand reels outsell left up to 50:1 on models so its a numbers issue.
