Couple Crazy Thoughts On Sd Cards/storage And Fishfinders

Featured Replies

So, my elite 4 has 1 micro sd slot. Which means I can run the map or I can run the card to take pics of sonar.

Couple thoughts

1: Could I copy the map folder(I already copied it to my desktop for backup) into the normal micro sd and then be able to see my maps and save?

2: Could you buy one of the micro sd to usb adaptors as such(http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/21/microsd-to-usb-mobidapter-is-a-smartphones-best-friend/) and then hook up an external hard drive giving you an endless supply of storage? Heck, you might even be able with the usb to put it directly to a laptop.

Thoughts?

Might try option one at least, it wont cost me a dime. Ive read about people needing two cards, I wonder why you couldnt just copy all files to another card.

If you have a Navionics chip you can call them at their Wareham, MA headquarters.  Chances are they will refer you to the Fugawi Canada headquarters.  I have had a couple of occasions to contact Fugawi, and they have always provided me with the proper information, and answers to my questions.

I'm sure that Wayne, our resident guru on all things electronic can give you the best scoop.
