What do you guys use to take the seals off with?  I've got 2 reels making a loud squealing noise on a long cast I think they need to be cleaned.  I have run them dry since I installed them 2 years ago, and I would like to continue to do so.  A drop of oil will take care of the noise but I think I get better casting distance running them dry.  Do the seals go back on easily once you get them off?

A t-pin will do the trick.  No, they do not go on easy.

If you have been running them dry for 2 years then they might be ready to be replaced and also replacing the seals is not easy at all.

They will really be loud without the seals!

At least I'd think they would be louder... I don't use the seals but do use oil and mine are quiet.

Thanks fellas.  I don't think they are worn out but they definitely need to be cleaned.  They are still as smooth as they were the day I put them in. I guess I will just leave the seals off.
