I'm in the market for a new heavy action rod no shorter than 7'6 primarily for punching, but if it feels good I'll might use it for some swimbaits or pitching. I'd like a rod with at least some degree of parabolic action to it as well. What's working for you all, any suggestions are appreciated.

7'11" H power, mod. fast St Croix Mojo. It's a beast. Takes a reel a little on the heavy side to balance it. I have mine paired with a Shimano Cruxis 201, that's a 9+ oz. reel.  Is it perfectly balanced and feathery light .........nope, but it has great sensitivity when paired with braid, is well made, and is affordable. And I am pretty sure I could pull a mini-van out of the slop with it.

Look at a Phenix Recon too, probably either the 766, or 796. They have the action you're looking for, and are very sensitive, great rods for the money.  

I have a few flipping rods, Powell 765,Powell 7105, and a Castaway Skeleton 7'6H and over christmas i bought the 7'7"H Cumara when it was on sale for 100bucks. All of them are capable of punching nasty stuff and hauling out 4lbs of fish and 10lbs of weeds. But as far as the parabolic action, only the Castaway has a really good parabolic action.

My castaway is now myy a rig/swimbait rod.

BUT ALL OF THOSE RODS ARE BEASTS.

The best parabolic action as far as punching rods go that I've found is St croixs MH/MF or H/MF legend tournament/legend xtreme. perfectly built for punching. I can't comment on ww2's mojo but i'm sure the action is pretty spot on as far as mod fast punching rods go.

I've yet to use mine I purchased this winter. It has a lot to live up to but sure does feel right.

Thats a bad dude right there!  I've used my partners a few times and its sweet, I still like my Loomis BCFR 954 GLX more though.

I'm leaning toward the Mojo Bass or a Wright Mcgill rod, some thing with some power and length that won't break the bank. I should have been more clear to start with I'm on short leash with the Misses regarding my constant fishing expenses lol. I'm probably gonna pair it with a moderately light reel (in low 7 ounce range).

 If you go with the Mojo, you'll be fine with a light reel, but you might want to add a little weight to the butt end to help balance it a little better. I don't like adding weight to the end of the rod, that's why I want with the heavier reel instead of any of my E's series Curados, or Citicas. It's not really all that tip heavy, but it's a big rod and being better balanced helps on those long days when punching or flipping is an all day affair.

That's the reel I used to have on it before I switched to "all Shimano". It was a good match for that rod.

I'm going to hold off until I can get my hands on both and compare them with reels mounted. I'm a Lew's guy (good reels and they've been very good to me) so in all likely-hood it's probably gonna be something in their line.

Super Duty.

I have an amazing punch setup worth a try, it's the dobyns 766flip and a lews bb1 reel

I also have the Dobyns DX795 Flip with a Lews Super Duty.  The rod has some tip for such a power stick. Light, great feel and balanced.
