I called Ranger to see about getting a deck extention for my 482v. I about fell down when they told me it would be $320 and it wouldnt match since they do not have that carpet anymore. So that got me thinking about building my own. Has anyone ever done this? I can't see where it would be too difficult to do. if someone has pictures of one they have done it would be great!! thanks!

i decked an entire 14' jon boat i dont have any pics during the process of it. you need a frame, wood, epoxy....

A co-worker of mine and a guy I've been to Canada with built a reardeck extension on his Nitro Fish/Ski boat.  He took the back row seats out, built a wood deck on hinges with two posts and rubber feet to sit on the base of the boat floor. Hinges where important as you could lift it up with relative ease and store equipment under it. Added a good 2-3 feet on the back casting deck and worked like a charm. If I can search out any pics I will try and find them. it didn't cost him very much in materials. 

I have built them from marine plywood and aluminum.  It all depends on what you have in the way of skills.  I built a removable one for my champion with a storage box and a seat pedestal.   You just have to make a plan and do some serious measuring.

Do you mean for the front deck? (fill in the little "gap" next to console).  My buddy added one to his tracker... basic idea is to build a cube from 2x4's, add a cpl diagonal 2x4 bracings, and put plywood on top with some hinges. If you want it to be somewhat permanent, then you'll want to attach it to the deck somehow.... if aluminum hull, use self tapping metal screws... if glass, then i don't know a safe method. Add some carpet on top and done. It really shouldn't be a difficult task
