Huddleston Weedless Shad

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a similar bait to the huddleston weedless shad?  I enjoy using these baits but they break so easily. I had one fish absolutely destroy the hudd and it wouldnt swim correctly after that. I feel like these tear and rip easily especially in heavy cover or skipping them into cover.  Does anyone have a similar bait that they would recommend? Also I recommend these highly but I would buy a few since they do break easily.

I have a couple of those baits but never used them yet, Where and how do you like to fish them?

Put some Megastrike on them so they slip through the fishes teeth without tearing as much and do what you can to keep the fish from jumping once they're hooked and they'll last a lot longer. We usually get around 10 fish a bait on one, sometimes close to 20.

HSD-don't bother fishing them, they don't work. You can just send them to me and I'll get rid of them for you :)

I fish them in the same places I would fish a jig but also in open water. I like to pitch and also skip them into brush piles and trees.

I tend to skip them as well so that does some damage to the lure. I just wish the nose was a little more solid and the body collapsed. How are the 6in weedless I never fished them since they arent on TW and Im not going to pay out the ass for them on the hudd site.

Little dab of superglue or mend it around the nose will keep it from tearing as bad. The 6" is a great bait also and a little more durable.

I know its not completely the same but I had a grass minnow and it absolutely slaughtered the fish. I caught 24 off the bait before it unusable and I could have made it last 30 if I glued it. As BB86 said, throw some megastrike on it and it will last longer.

The 6" weedless is a good bait. They did have it on TW for a little while then took them down because of stock I guess. I bought three of them and the quality is ok. The 8" ones have amazing quality. I'm going to get two weedless ones. One to fish and one to keep because they will be worth a good amount of change one day.

I would buy the one to keep off of huddleston then and get an off the wall color like the nightstalker in 68 special.  I wish they put out more of these baits then they do.

Yeah same here.
