Just curious how everyone washes their boat?

Do you spot clean it with soap and water?

Or do you wash it like a car and soak the whole thing?

And of course finish up with BTS.

I wash and wax mine 4 times a year to help protect the finish. After each trip I also wipe it down using some spot eliminator stuff. Takes 10 min tops but worth it to me.

I have a 1997 skeeter that passes for near new. Makes me think the approach I have used since I bought it new was all worth it.

I wash mine every time I fish in the rain.

I  wash it a couple times a year, just pull it in the car wash, hose the hull and trailer down, hit it with the soapy brush, and rinse off. I have aluminum, so I don't wax it or anything. I usually hit the carpet with the shop vac. they have there too. Before I put it away for the winter I armor-all the seats, tires, and plastic crap. Good enough. 

I'm pretty meticulous about taking care of the interior.  I let the lake wash the hull.  It's aluminum.

Hopefully it is fish slime.

My boat is alm so it only gets washed once a year. It looks nice but I wouldn't call it pretty.

has anyone ever restored the finish to a fiberglass boat?  Mine is 1984 model and for the last 8 years or so it was outside.  I put in new carpet this spring and got a garage cover for it.  I woudl like to bring the finish back to it but I don't know if it is too far gone.

Washed every other trip unless it has a scum line the it gets washed immediatly its easier to get off before it bakes on. Then after I wash it I wipe it down with a detailing spray wax. Then about once a month I completely detail it inside,outside and the bilge. I also pull both outboard and trolling motor props and check for line. Then check the water levels in the batteries.

 

Cleaning the boat is when I usually find things that need to be tightened or fixed.
