Weighted Swimbait Hooks, chatterbait And Swim Senkos

Featured Replies

I've had a small assortment of swim Senkos for awhile now and just never had any real urge to try em out.

I came into a bunch of 2/0 and 4/0 Mustad (adjustable) weighted swimbait hooks recently.

How well would these hooks compliment a swim Senko or is it best to fish it weightless.

What about a swim Senko on the back of a Chatterbait or other vibrating swimming jig...anyone tried it?

you can fish them any of those ways. my best is weightless.

Agreed.  Weightless is the best, but sometimes you need to get them down in the water column where the fish are.  In these instances, a 1/8 oz. screw nosed swimbait hook is a great option.  I love the white ones dipped in various colors/patterns of JJ's Magic.

You can fish it weightless, but Gary Yamamoto recommends a 1/4 oz bullet weight.

The  weight helps transfer energy to the tail. I have done okay with the bait right out

of the package, but prefer just fishing the back half naked on a jig head or as a trailer

on a swim jig.

Didn't know if you ran across this, thought it might add an answer your question.

Try them on a 1/2 oz scroungier head.
