Newbie Swimbait Help

Featured Replies

I'm new to the swimbaiting scene, and am wondering what you guys would suggest for entry-level swimbaits?

Can't really be much help to you but glad you asked the question.  I did my first serious swim bait fishing two weeks ago and was surprised at the number of hits I got and totally frustrated at not catching a single one.

I was throwing a Storm Wildeye Shad in Arkansas Shad color that I had modified with an orange and chartuse marker and a Berkley "somenother" in a chartruse blue gill pattern.  Got lots of followers on the Berkley but no hits.  I'll be watching to see what info you pick up.  Thanks for asking.

Hudd. 6 is a good start. Can be found at any rate if fall. Bbz_1 is a decent lil guy as wrll as the Tru tungsten Tru life series.

X 2, I would add some of Mattlures swimbaits as well, i.e. his tritail trout, ect..His hardbaits are nice as well.

a lot of people say that the bass pro shops Z9R swimbait sucks but it does not and you cant beat the price for them i have the 7in model and it looks great on the water havnt had any fish landed but have had hits

Zoom swimming fluke if that counts as a swimbait.

Also, for inexpensive 4" swimbaits, try the H20's under 10.00 apiece, they swim pretty good, but, they have a Fast sink rate..in shallow water with debris, they tend to get hung up alot, they'd be great for deeper water.
