Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but I didn't know where else to put it.

Was at the lake today after work trying out the senko worm for the first time (was shut out), and left around 9:30. It was dark and I was walking back to my car, and noticed there was a fish it the weeds by the bank that looked like it had almost beached itself. It was kinda flopping and splashing around but didn't really seem like it was really trying to get back to deeper water. It was probably in 6 inches of water gives or take, so I didn't see any fins. Plus it was dark and I had no flashlight. Phone was dead too, so needless to say I didn't get a good look at it.

Any idea what species it might of been? I was thinking maybe a cat or a carp. Don't know why it was just chilling there unless it was dying

Well that's not a description to even say what it was, but perhaps a dying fish.

Who knows what it was doing there, someone could've threw it or a bird of prey dropped it.. too many scenarios to be sure

No man, Chupacabra, the like to flop around by the shoreline so us fisherman would be attracted and then POW you dead.  Luckily he didn't get a closer look or he wouldn't be posting.

In all seriousness though, that is pretty vague...wayyyy too many variables to help you out.

X3, they've been spawning all over here. They make a heck of a commotion chasing each other through the shallows, great time to get the bow out and whack them while they aren't as spooky.
