Alright, so i've been looking around at a worm/jig rod. I have came across a great deal on a Clarus casting rod. The rod is a 6'8" med heavy xfast tip. I was wondering for using this with texas rigs/other plastics and jigs. Should i stick with the xfast action or should i get the same one in fast action. Would it be bad to have an xfast, because you might not be able to see the tip move, or would the rod being stiff be good for sensitivity. Also i was wondering about the sensitivity of these rods, and what you could compare it to?

Also what lb. test should i buy. I was leaning towards 15lb. fluoro, so i can jig as well. Seaguar abrazx or invisx?

I'd go with the XF tip. Your max weight jumps to 1oz.

 

I have a clarus and love it. Its a 6'8" MXF and I use it for top water. Its well balanced, light and has a life time warranty. Plus is black and no some funky color too. They run 80 or so new so base that on, you can see what kind of deal your getting. I am not 100% sure, but the lifetime over the counter warranty is for the original purchaser. Just an FYI

 

14-15 pound test should be good for you

I have a clarus spinning rod, I don't use it as much as I used to but Its a great rod for the money. You can't beat that lifetime over the counter warrenty on an $80 rod.

I have the older style spinning clarus I use for pond use, I like it.
