Who's Fishing For Peacocks (Or Snakehead) Tomorrow?

Featured Replies

I'd like to go fishing tomorrow morning and since it seems it's getting to hot for LMB and I've never caught either Pea's or Snakes I thought I'd give it a try. Anyone going out tomorrow that could handle some company and wants to show me the ropes?

I'll bring the coffee!

It would be helpful to post your location.

If i didn't have to work tomorrow i'd be in. If you plan to target peas in the miramar area i wouldn't go in the am.  THey love the hotter weather.  So early afternoon is a much better time.  Snakeheads you would have to drive up to coral springs and would be better to hit in the am IMO.  The snakeheads love the topwater buzz frogs and spinnerbaits.  Sunday i'm fishing but i think i'll be hitting the rickenbacker causeway for some saltwater action.  The tides seem to be right.  Good luck.  We can meet up in the future at some point and fish just PM me

+1 on the snakeheads in Coral Springs, they're in every canal I hit including one right in my back yard. The only problem is that they're spawning now, almost every one I see is accompanied by another adult and a billion babies. You really have to tick them off to get them to bite when they're guarding young. Now having said that, I did catch a large one a week ago that was either a single parent or failed to secure a mate.

I may be going tomorrow in the evening around 6pm. I'll let you know if/where I'll be.

Miramar is loaded with peacocks, most canals and ponds have them.  They like hot weather and afternoon is best, I've caught them almost up to sunset.  My last trip down that way a few months ago I saw tarpon rolling, got my juices flowing, not that I could have ever landed one on the gear I was using for peacocks.

My car was reading 95 yesterday, and with this humidity there will be no freshwater fishing for me.  My ticket is saltwater from about 4 am till 10:00.  Except for the ICW corridor from Miami to Lake Worth the hot bite is sea trout, where I'm at it's snook.
