My 12 yo daughter has been fishing with a kiddie rig for two years now.  Whenever I would bring up the idea of getting a new spinning rod and reel, she fought it tooth and nail.  My Dad (her Grandpa) told her that he was going to buy her a new rig.  Saturday he went out and got her an Abu spinning reel on a Berkley rod.  She loves it.  We are heading out tomorrow to try it out.

Thats great, my daughter has decided she doesn't like fishing anymore.  Hopefully yours will continue on!  (Even after catching 7 bass the last time on a drop shot rig.)  I was sure that was going to spark her enthusiasm!

my son just got his first spincast for his second birthday, didnt even care lol.

That's awesome!!  My son loves his spinning rod especially since I put yellow braid on it.  Now he wants another.

Lol I wish his mother would have a fit! We live in FL so she would be worried that he would get bit by a snake or eaten by an alligator lol
