My neighbor walked over and said he found this in an old tackle box and gave it to me. Told me he's had it for years. Anyone ever see a jig with the head like this?

A broken or modified one looks to me like. Like someone tried to skip it and hit a crossbar or concrete and took a chunk out of it. 

There are notches down both sides of the head. Just wondering if a jig like this had a name? Probably homemade.

My guess is someone tried to get creative with a mold. Not sure what the purpose of those notches would be.
