Blue Gill Problems

Featured Replies

While throwing several plastic baits such as a kicker frog, ribbon tail worm, and craws for bass in a pond, they were getting torn up by blue gill (I think) they were ripping the legs and tails off of my baits. Anyone else have this problem? how should I counter these destructive sunnies. I did catch a few bass on the frog before they got to it, and caught a bluegill on the leg-less frog! haha.

Yeah, but not enough to call it a problem. Normally happens with worms.

It happens but where there's bluegills there's probably bass. It's harder for them to tear up a straight tail worm so you could switch to one of those. Check out the Z-man frogs, they'll stretch out the legs a foot from the body of the bait but they won't tear them.
