Caught My First Frog Fish

Featured Replies

Finally got a hookup on a frog. I was using a Koppers live target black n yellow 55 size frog. As soon as it hit the water the bass inhaled it. I didn't even get a chance to try and work the lure.

she came in around 2 pounds, slightly under.

It was a pretty productive day all together. nothing huge, but the numbers were there. I also caught my first chatterbait fish.

I didn't get pics of all of them. Nothing bigger than the frog fish all day.

Nice top water action is the best fishing! Nice fish

With weed cover getting thick around me the frog is tied on all the time!  Good catch!

When they hit as soon as the bait lands its almost a blessing, you end up letting the fish take the bait better as you engage your reel and take up line.

Loudcherokee, those are the best strikes. Congrats on your first frog catch. Now your hooked. No pun intended.

WTG!  You have to love it when they break the surface after those frogs!

doesn't get any better than a frog fish!

My favorite thing about frogs is that when they hit it, they never just suck it under they ahnialate it

Nice frog fish. It's pretty cool when they grab it as soon as it hits the water. Kinda like an outfielder catching a fly ball.
