Featured Replies

I will be traveling to lake anna in less than a week now. We are staying in a lake house on Contrary Creek and would love to have some insight on how the fishing is this time of year at lake anna! Thanks in advance!

Sam loves that place! I'm sure he will clue you in to all that happens on his favorite lake in Va!! LOL!!

Thanks, Quanjig.

One Fish Anna! Everyone loves One Fish Anna.

Lots of room to run your boat all over the place.

Lots of jet boats, pontoon boats and ski boats with tubers and skiers.

Lots of places to fish.

Will send you a PM.

I luv Anna. Been several times and always come away happy. 971939_10151626493482838_1535758075_n.jp

I've just moved to the area and am looking to capitalize on my days off on lake anna.

Anyone come across any hot spots near the 208 bridge? I was marking fish at the mouth of pigeon run, on the marina side, but couldn't produce any bites. Was 30 feet from shore in 20-35 feet of water, fish were all over bait balls around 15 feet down.

Any bait/lure recommendations? I have not had a very productive week so far and I know they are there, I'm just having trouble getting them to bite.

Also, does anyone drift dead shad? I know in New England the stripers can be picky but frozen mackerel would normally get a few bites. I don't have the means to keep the shad alive and was curious if its worth the time to freeze and use later.

All advise would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome,  Bob. Nice to have you with us.

Just remember, the correct name of the lake is One Fish Anna.

Every now and then guys do well but for the most part, the lake wins.
