According to the Richmond Times Dispatch on Monday, August 5th, Gander Mountain is opening a new store in Charlottesville, Virginia at 2015 Seminole Trail at US 29.

No opening date has been released.

Just giving you guys in central Virginia a heads up!

I was all excited when they built on in Winston-Salem, NC.  But when it was done, I was disappointed.  It is a hunting store with some fishing equipment.

Still, its a better place to hang out than Barnes and Noble!  ha

Way overpriced on most stuff,  never have what you really need, a sales associate is never to be found, honestly don't know how they are still in business.

wow here we have one that opened a couple years ago it has a lot of hunting but last time i was there maybe a month or so ago it seems like their fishing section doubled or tripled...i even forgot to look for what i was going there for lol (Carolina lunker sauce)

I like that store, it's great stop when I'm coming home from Hobe or Juno being right off I-95, but too far just to run up there from my home just to browse.  BPS is about the same distance, living near the turnpike it's an easy drive, I usually stop when I'm taking my wife to the airport, works well as it's close to peacock country.

yeah i usually dont go up there just to look either but if im in the area ill stop in to browse and see if i find anything interesting lol other than that i much prefer bass pro shops and will go there to just browse haha...usually when i go to BPS im there for a couple hours just looking at everything

Will BR members get discounts?

LOL, they keep taking the employees' discounts away!

If any of you guys happen into the store, his name is Dustin. Tell him you know the guy from PA with the beard. I'm sure he will chuckle. Haha

now lets get a huge group and all go there and say PA beardman said you would hook us up lol

I travel down 29 to go to DC a few times a month and i've been passing this new store for a while.  Needless to say my wife is "SUPER" excited that there will be a Gander in my path!!  I don't buy alot from gander but it's a great way to get your eyes and hands on actual gear if you dont have another outlet of similar nature close by.
