Well, i got tired of carrying around all of my fishing gear, only bringing one or two rods, and not having all of my tackle.  Because of this i decided to construct my own fishing cart.  It holds three rods, tackle, and whatever else I may need.  I spent 0$ on this project because i just used some of the items that were laying around in my garage.  I have no idea if it will be functional or useful yet, but the idea seemed to be good.  Hopefully i made myself a nice little accessory.  What are your thoughts?

Quick access. Anytime I go out I take at least 2. Sometimes more if its somewhere I havent fished before.

If you take a few, you have anything you may need at your disposal. 1 with mono/fluoro 1 with braid. 1 crank rod, 1 worm/jig rod etc.

Because it allows me to have more technique options. Why do people have more than one rod on their boat? Quick access and better presentations.

A different rod for different techniques. Your cart looks pretty cool man. Hopefully it will work like you want it too.

Couldnt have said it any better.

I've been under the working theory that one rod is suitable for bass fishing, and a different rod for pannies....and still work under that premise.  I am beginning to see, however, that its much more advantageous to have more than one as the sheer time to switch from a Texas rig to a dropshot setup to a lure setup with a snap swivel is time consuming.  Have mine currently set up to do T-rig tomorrow, correctly for the first time, and will be a pain to switch it over to a weedless scum frog when I want to.

The bigger the tires you can put on it the better.  You have a great start so far.

I generally bring 2 casting rods and two spinning rods with extra spools. You never know when you'll have a malfunction. Rod breaks, reel breaks and it's the only one that you have with you, your day is done.

 

Lately I've been carrying two rods along with me, one for frogging and one for throwing senkos or flukes. Keeps me from having to re-rig a rod all of them time.

 

To the OP, that's great looking cart. It would be excellent for fishing the piers on the big lakes!

Grab a Plano 3731 to store your soft plastics in and you'll be set

That's cool looking.  Now all you need is someone to pull it for you while you're fishing.

I love it! The thing I really enjoy about anglers is their ability to solve problems. I'm sure you'll make some improvements after your maiden voyage.

 

I carry 6 rods on my boat. I started with 8 but that seemed like overkill.

When I'm in the Kayak I carry 3 rods. Frog, crank and t-rig. When I'm bank fishing I carry 2, frog and t-rig.

Nice cart, I am not sure of the areas you fish, but where I fish sometimes the terrain is kind of rough and I would imagine it pretty difficult to drag a cart with you.  The banks are usually covered in high brush/reeds and unlevel.  Maybe a large backpack would serve you better?  You would still have to hold 3 rods, but the backpack would probably easily hold all of your boxes/plastics. 

I have an angling backpack, its not as convenient as this cart will be if it works right.
