What Rod/reel Would You Buy If Money Was Not An Issue?

Featured Replies

3 Custom Abu 2500C's by that guy in Sweden who creates the custom grips and spools.  Paired up with custom rods, 1 6ft., 1 7ft., 1 on a flyrod blank.  Then a Daiwa Steez spinning combo.

Megabass super red demon paired with a Daiwa Z. Hoping to have a rod powerful enough that when I set the hook, it will relocate the fish from one side of the lake to the other!

I'm already fishing it and I'm about to give it to my wife and build myself another. It's a custom St Croix 5S69MLXF with TiSiC guides and a Stradic Mg. It will be replaced with a 5S610MLXF. Still up in the air about the reel. Might be a Stella, might be a Sustain.

If money is not an issue, then I'd be fishing with a rod and reel no one else could afford or even get.  Yep, custom rod, custom reel.

I dunno some people like some crazy expensive stuff. If I could justify/afford a couple dream combos. I would, spinning, have a pflueger patriarch on a 7'6" m mf falcon low rider salt. Baitcasting couple abus mentioned look sweet but I would go with a new quantum tour mg on a Kistler, either a KLX or a custom either way it would be 7' h f

Tough one there....for me it would probably be one of the new Sage method elite rods in 9' 8wt matched to a custom Abel fly reel.  Of course i would have to cast the rod first but from what i have read they seem to be a pretty nice set up.

Alright got dx's and some tuned Daiwas...

I would have to go with some Megabass Destroyer Phase 3 Rods...Just Cause

Megabass Reels or Some JD Dream Zillions....

Life is good*******I am not realy wanting anything at this time. I don't think I can upgrade These at this time, maybe more of them???????? :thumbsup1:

I would go to cajun custom rods !http://www.cajuncustomrods.com Check out the bad @#$ rods they have on thier site!

I have spoken with Jaesen, the owner in great legnth and have seen his operation first hand. Incredibly intelligent man that can build some good rods. He knows his way around rod building and all the fancy jargon associated with it. Some of the strongest rods and most balanced lightweight rods that I have used. Had the chance to cast a spiral wrapped rod and it was incredible. Also was challenged to try to break some of the rods he built and simply couldn't. He can do some pretty cool things for his customers.

I agree with you on the stellas, a few times now ive almost pulled the trigger on one. But shimano made the fj - sustains so nice, its not worth paying that much for a stella...
