Skipping Baits And Hook Point Popping Out

Featured Replies

It seems like every time I skip my Senko style bait under a dock, the hook point pops out and when I retrieve it back to the boat, I have to readjust the bait.  I was wondering how you guys combat this inefficiency.  I do usually use braid and skin hook texas rig, but do you guys just bury the hook point more so?  If someone could show me a pic of how deep you skin hook, that would be much appreciated.

Wacky style. Only way to go. Use a weedless hook and you're good in heavier cover, too.

Skip gap hooks work great for mepost-43573-0-66185800-1376359459_thumb.j

Buy superglue, and put it on the eye of the hook right before you slide the worm up.

It bonds very quickly so don't get it on your fingers.

Just bury the hook deeper in the plastic.

I really like the idea of the skip gap hooks... Is there a disadvantage to use them all the time?
