After being without a truck for a couple years my wife and I realized they do come in handy and decided to get another one. I have to admit I was never a big Ford fan but the Ecoboost got my attention. Some club members have them so I got a chance to see how they perform. Went to check prices last night and ended up coming home with one. Now have to resist the urge to buy aftermarket parts.....

Ha ha, no money left for upgrades at this point.

 

One question for those with trucks without boats, any suggestions on transporting rods? They are way to long to go in the back, will fit up front but a little concerned about breaking tips. My wife suggested a hard rod tube, only problem with those are having to remove the reels to get them to fit.

Plano hard case. It expands and has foam inside to cushion them.

H2O Express makes a four rod soft case that will store 4 combos all rigged out.

go get a cheap berkley 6 rod rack for the wall.  Drill four small holes in bed to match up.  Use hollow wall anchors in bed (the kind that stay in place without the screw in them) and wingnut a bolt for them.  30 second removable rod rack for the back of your truck.  I used a set up like that for years when I was younger.  These days, I just put them in the passenger seat.

 

Edited to add:  I forgot about the softcases, I have a 6 rod case that would also work but at highway speed it catches air and will come out if not tied down.  (want to guess how I figured that out???)
