when do you..

Featured Replies

Never......JK usually midday when other techniques arent working such as cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs...in no particular order.

Honestly I haven't used one or any senko type baits at all this year. Most of my plastic have been rage craws space monkeys and some frogs. But I would agree that it would be a good bait to go to when not much else is working that and a follow up bait (wacky rigged) to a missed fish.

Hand my gf a wacky rigged senko, black with blue flake and she catches fish after fish... I do prefer to use other baits, but can't deny that a senko is guaranteed to catch fish anytime anywhere.

When I'm not getting bites, I'll usually go to a senko, finesse worm or a baby brush hog.

I totally agree with you that senkos flat out catch fish, but IMO it is ALOT more fun when i watch a fish using techniques such as deep cranks, frogs, spinnerbaits...

Usually when the bite slows and a tube or shakey head doesn't work.  Haven't used it much this year.  Alot of times I like to throw it at visual targets.

When I need versatility. The great thing about a T-Rigged senko for me is that I can throw it at weeds and let its wiggling falling motion trigger strikes, or I can work fast when the bass are active, or I can simply make it swim around erratically and slowly like a wounded shiner by gently tugging it every couple of seconds.

I hate senko fishing...

Senkos catch fish, I use it when someone i fish with starts to catch quality.

I haven't thrown one in well over a year. I honestly can't think of a soft plastic that I'm less likely to use, except perhaps a Fat Ika.

I have never thrown one and dont even keep them in my tackle box. I really dont see them being that much better than any other soft plastics . Yes, they catch fish but so do my flukes, trick worms and brush hogs.

personally i don't know why so many people say that they only throw a senko when they can't get a bite? I have caught some of my heaviest limits on nothing but senkos.. but then again i guess it has alot to do with what you feel comfortable with.. im a jig and soft plastics guy thats what my confidence is in. i still throw cranks and all treble hook lures but jigs and soft plastics FOR ME  catches more and bigger bass

They are the last resort for me most of the time
