*** Frog

Featured Replies

There are already alot of good soft frogs out there .. Spro, Koppers, etc

Havent had a strike on it yet.. only 1 trip so far.

I find myself falling back on my Koppers.

Seems like I may use it more for open-water situations and my Koppers in the weeds..

Anyone out there have lots of confidence in this frog and use it more than the Spro/Koppers?

My favorite is the spro popper. I can throw it the the pads or pop it in open water, and a lot of places I fish are overrun with milfoil so it makes it a lot more convenient than a popper with treble hooks.

I purchased the bogbait frogs, tadpoles, baby frogs, glo frogs, floating frogs and sinking frogs plus all the spro frogs, koppers etc. But I think the important thing is the frog scent from bogbait. Now I need to get out and use them. I'd like to know if one is hotter than the other. The bogbait tadpole with single and double legs looks awesome. I have the biggest bogbait bull frog but I'm not sure how to put a hook or hooks in it. This frog lure is a monster.

Slow it down! My biggest mistake was tryin to act like ish Monroe and constant walk the frog over the stuff. Pause it a lot!!!!! Frogs in the wild don't constantly swim. Most of my strikes come when I pause it between pads

I fish frogs all the time and to me the best frog there is is the booyah pad crasher either white or natural green they have super soft body's and the hooks are amazingly sharp so ya booyah pad crasher haha

Been hooking up well with booyah. Agreed on the slow it down approach. They hit on the pause more than on the walk the dog motion in my area. White and black ones all day

Bought some booyahs today at my local ma and pop shop and was impressed!

We were tossing live frogs in the water, they would freeze and sink. All of a sudden the bass came out of the darkness or shadows and ate it. Every live frog we caught acted the same way until the bass hit it. So a pause is good.

I was a Koppers guy until I got the River2Sea spittin' wa frog. I haven't touched my Koppers since!

I have fished a lot of brands frogs..........all of them catch fish, user error is the #1 reason why people miss fish, or have poor hooking %. Of coarse there are always days where no matter what brand frog your using they will just slap or boil at it. Pick a frog you like and fish it.

Yeah use braid and all the frogs I've Used catch fish..... just user error... slow down if there not hitting it slow walk it you'll find the cadenice they want then you'll smash em... I love froggin!!!

Frogging is to men like shoe shopping is to women...

Never a bad time to go frogging!

Spro popper for me without a doubt.  My setup is a Dobyns Savvy 734 with Lew's Tourny Pro and 50# Sufix Pro braid.

They may all catch fish, but I could probably catch more fish on a spark plug than my pad crashers.

Gosh I just noticed the board ***'ed out the topic.. Lunker*Hunt frog is what I'm talkin about..

Anyone used this?  It won the award at iCast recently..

Anyway some nice posts.. will be patient more and pause the frog.

Not a fan of poppin frogs.. I sold my Spro Popper Frog cause the Koppers kept gettin bit and it didnt.

Sold my Koppers hard Popper frog for the same reason.

I mainly use Koppers Hollow Body Frogs and I get most of my bites actually opposite a pause.. fast-walk-twitchin' the Koppers.

I also noticed my medium frogs get bite ALOT more than the small and large sizes.

However I just bought the Lunker*Hunt Frog and it just cant get bit and I SO WANT IT TO!

Spro is my go to frog. It's always walked the best for me. Do you trim the legs? Seems to help the action and short strikes for me

100% agree here! I haven't been fishing a single trip since I got these frogs that I haven't been fishing them. The action has me, they're all I want to throw. Doesn't matter if they're getting hit that day or not. I have 4 of the 70 size and 3 of the 55. I don't like the smaller size nearly as well as the "regular" size version, it doesn't have nearly the same walk the dog action for me. I'm sure if I just spent more time only fishing the 55 I could get the retrieve down correctly but I'm looking for a big bite on the frog so I'm sticking to the 70's.

Spro also makes great frog baits, just MHO.

I was going to pick up a few more this morning like I'd plan on doing, but last night I got the 70 size in Poison. The thing looks sweet!

What colors work best for you? I still want to get a few more. Any suggestions?

I just started using frogs.  Does that bite stop at some point in the fall as the water temp falls?

I've had the most bites on Dirty White, but I like the Bream color best. It just looks so good to me in the water. I've also had a few bites on Poison. If I had to rank the colors I've fished so far in order by the number of bites it would be Dirty White, Poison, I Know It, and Bream. I hadn't really noticed or given it much thought until now but the color I like best has gotten the least number of bites, could be something or maybe just a coincidence?

So yeah I'd definitely suggest Dirty White and Poison, and as I said the Bream color looks great to me in the water, not so much the fish as of yet. Since you just received Poison I think you're set for a few days anyway but if you just happen to be in position to pick up a couple more Dirty White and Bream would be my top suggestions. Good luck.

My topwater frog bite has slowed drastically.. I'm generally now using subsurface and deep using swimbaits.

Flipin the bird!!! I'm telling you it is sweet!!! Caught these three fish in the past week...

Finally got a topwater bite on my Lunker*Hunt Frog today and it were big too . got the hook set which is always tricky with frogs..

The lunker lept and violently shook the d**n frog outa her mouth!

I stood 30 yards away desperately the whole time reeling in slack to keep the frog line tight only to see it in slow motion..

Head shakin' .. plop.. frog out like she just spit it out..

Sigh.. at least the frog has merit
