It's already getting very cold in the north ... the leaves are turning and my depression is already growing (sidebar ... sorry.  )

 

For all of you feeling my pain what is your favorite bait to throw this time of the year up North.  

Oneida lake.  Umbrella Rig.  The end.

For me Fall has three parts - early, middle and late.

 

Early - Top water, Spinner baits, Lipless baits and Jigs are used to follow fish where ever they may be.

 

Middle - seems to be less top water action. Lipless baits, jigs and Swim baits (A-rig even) really shine.

 

Late - It's almost all slow rolling swim baits and jigs for me.

i've been doing well on topwater but its still feels transitional to me and not full on fall conditions. Having a great day followed by a day like today where its blue skies in the 70's and I cant seem to get bit.
