Heart broken. Need help.

Featured Replies

Ok, well my friend and I were fishing at a local pond and I he's not the best fisherman but he's alright. I let him use my FAVORITE crankbait (bad idea) and we had just started fishing and he was fishing on a drain and he does a side cast and "SMACK" i look at him and my thought "Oh lord, this isnt good." and it wasnt. My crankbait just broke. and this is the bait ive caught 500+ bass on it. including my first 10lber. I felt my heart sink to my feet. And the WORST part... They dont make the bait anymore. My last one..  :'( I know what ur thinkin' "what an idiot, letting him use ur favorite lure." I know... it was retarded. But anyway the crankbait was a Bandit footloose. They make footlooses but not near as much action and wobble. I have a few and just havent had as much luck. idk if anyone here has used an older footloose but if so you know what im talking about. and if anyone might have an idea where I could maybe get one cause im in need here... Thanks for reading this and thanks for any imformation.

Yeah I am heart broken also. Lost my best fishing buddy last week, we hung out and fished for over 45 years. You will find another crank.

Try and keep an eye out on Ebay. These things pop up every now and then.Specially older lures.I know this ain't much help but it's some where to start and look.

Blue streak sorry for your lost man.

Yeah, kinda puts everything into perspective, doesn't it. :-/

Blue Streak, sorry for your loss.

Look at it this way Josh,  Your friend was valued enough by you for you to give him your gem bait so he might experience a little of the success you had with it. Maybe you'll be blessed enough to talk about that day forty five years from now.  David and Jonathan were closer than brothers......they probably fished together.

Blue Streak I am sorry for your loss. It has been over 10 years since I lost my brother, who was my fishing partner. Keep fishing. It's what your friend would want.

Josh. if you fish with me you can use any bait I have. You can also use any equipment as long as I am not using it. It's just fishing man. ;)

Dude, I would buy a couple in the same color and experiment with modifying them. They're on the cheaper side anyway, and $15 or $20 invested until you get it right would be well worth replacing such a productive lure.

BlueStreak, sorry for your loss.

Josh: ebay,ebay or ebay

i just picked this guy up last week and have already caught over 15 fish with it. it's safe to say it'd be comparable if not better. WEC cranks

Those are the best crankbaits ever made, you will catch TONS of fish on them. I have like five of them.  To bad they are so expensive.

Josh, I'm with everybody else look on eBay.

Josh, sorry to rain on your parade the title of the topic just caught me at a bad time. Just like Flippin and Pitchin said, you shared something that was very valuable with your friend so I guess you guys are pretty close. Hope you guys are still buddies 40 years from now.

Hope you can find another Footloose that works that well again. I agree eBay is the place to look

Happy hookin'

Blue Steak I am also very sorry to hear that, stay strong and keep fishing.

Josh, I also agree with ebay. I don't think that I saw any recommendations for amazon, they have everything and not just new stuff. Members sell used lures as well. Craigslist wouldn't hurt either, I saw a guy not too long ago that was selling his ENTIRE shmorgus-board of lures.

Good luck.

Which model is that?

It looks like the E-1 or E-2 to me.

What color was the footloose? I should have a couple older ones with the Mustad triple grips.
