A Pickerel Saved The Day.

Featured Replies

I think chain pickerel are a beautiful fish but when they are not the targeted species they can be annoying as they cut through line like butter.  In all the lakes I fish around PA I have only caught them in a few so its not a big deal, however this last lake was pickerel heaven probably caught 10 of them, but more bass then pickerel just no bass that went 15"..

Maybe I'm just really fortunate and I know I'm probably jinxing myself with this post but I've never lost a lure to a chain pickerel.  I have had 2 of them cut the line once I had them out of the water but they were over land at that point so I didn't lose the lure.  Never had one bite through the line during the fight.
