Best, Affordable Scale

Featured Replies

So I really want a scale but I am not really trying to break the bank either. I don't know whether to go with a "gripper" type scale or just one of the standard digital scales.

I also wade a ton in rivers and would be pretty dissapointed if the scale did not take water very well. I do understand that this is probably asking for wayyy too much though haha.

So let me know what you guys' preferences are.

Thanks,

Carlos

Check this one out. It's on sale, making it affordable. I,ve been thinking about picking one up, but the reviews are mixed. I'm still undecided. If anyone has any experience with this scale, please share.

I've used the above scale for approximately one year and have been plenty happy with it. During tournaments, I weigh every fish and my totals have never seemed to have been off by more then an ounce or two that I can recall. For the price, I say go for it.

My 2c...

I use the Xtools one, too.  It's OK.  Seems accurate, though once or twice I've had to 'reboot' it as it registered an obvious 3lb fish as being nearer 6lbs.  It's also relatively slow to start up/zero itself.  That said, the feature for remembering your five heaviest fish is very nice, and is easy to use.  There really aren't many choices on the market so I'd probably pick this one again, despite one or two shortcomings.

Yep, that's the scale for me  ;D

I bought the X-Tools scale last year "on sale" for $80. I have been happy with it.

That's the setup that we use for tournaments. Haven't had the issue with it weighing heavy, but every thing else is right on the money. It is SLOOOOW to boot up.

I have the Rapala, they come in 15 and I believe 30 lb. They are accurate, and under 30.00, usually 20, to 25.00 depending on where you buy it.

Hmm.

I might have to pick this up.  I currently use a non-digital scale.  I think it is very accurate, but a digital would be nice.

X2

I hung a 5lb and 10lb weight from my sons set on mine and they were exactly 5.0 and 10.0 lbs.
