GYCB Swimsenkos ?

Featured Replies

are these things any good? there was alot of hype last year about them and how do you fish them? any feed back would be good because I already bought 5 packs

I can't yet justify spending 7.49 a pack for soft plastics, which is what Gander Mountain is selling them for (the good colors anyway) in Winchester VA...

It's been a great lure for me since the start of the month. I rig it on a 3/0 ewg hook and buzz it on top. Reel it slow to make sure it stays under and doesn't come up. But what has been working great for me lately is reeling it slow and stop and let it drop and repeat. Most hits come on the drop or right when I start to reel. Hope that helps?

T-rigged, I work them fairly fast.  I want the tail to 'wag'.  Wacky-rigged, I fish it slowly in shallow water.

Great fish Dan!  Do you think fishing a swim senko wacky has different action than a regular senko wacky?

Sweet fish, Dan. Riskkid was also getting some good hits on them at Lake Fork last week.

The Swimming Senko has become one of my favorite baits.  I have been T-Rigging it with either a 4/0 ore 3/0 EWG and a 3/16 bullet weight.  I have yet to fing a color the fish won't bite on.  I caught nine LMBs today on the Purple with Emerald flake.  I have also fished them with a screw in bullet weight but have had better success with a regular bullet weight.

I tend to very my retreive and sort of fish like a jerkbait sometimes.

Oh yes, they have a different action than the originals.  I run my 3/0, Gammy, weedless hook at a point about 1/3 of its length from its 'nose'.  Rigged wacky this way, the nose falls towards the bottom first.  I haven't proved it yet but I believe it will land on a bed/nest nose-first and will appear to be eating the eggs..... :)

This was the first time I used them. I used a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook with an unpegged bullet weight. I used a very slow retrieve and double twitched it every so often. I lost a nice one at the boat caught with it  :'(.

I like them. Gonna try them out again this weekend on Percy Priest. Will let ya'll know how it works.

I'm hopin for some like Dan got!

I caught 2 decent keepers today on the swim senko.......carolina rigged. I have a strong feeling the swim senko's will be an awesome bait at night.
