Berkley Gulp Alive In Buckets

Featured Replies

I made a quick scan of the Berkley Gulp Alive buckets at Gander Mountain a few days ago.  I noticed they were expensive - $19.99 each.  I'm talking about those baits in those small buckets with liquid.

Are they worth the money?  Do they work?   I read you can take the plastic lures and put them back in the liquid when you are done with them.

I'm wondering how many of you use them and what your opinions are.

 Thanks

They can work but the catfish love them.

I love the minnows, haven't really fished with much else. The catfish do love the them. Make sure the bucket doesn't get tipped over because the stinky liquid will leak all over.

I like the leeches and minnows. But I buy them in the bags. #1 the bagged baits are softer, Idk why, but they are. The baits in the buckets always seemed to be stiffer and while more durable, get me less bites than the bagged baits. And #2, I have bad the buckets/tubs leak all over the place...... Most undesirable.

20 bucks is a lot of money, you can get about 4 or 5 lures for that price. :happy-138:

I don't know why but I get more bites with the bags of Gulp minnows than with the bucket variety.  You wouldn't think there'd be a difference (and the bucket minnows do have fewer deformities) - but that's what I've experienced over the last 3 yrs.  I use the 3" minnows quite often for dropshotting.
