Suck on this Gambler!   P.S. On a t-rigged 6" green zoom lizard, 3/16 bullet weight, 3/0 EWG hook, 50# green braid. Dropped across a canal into some cover, let it dropped, and before it hit the bot

  • I'm in and I will start us off. Got this 19.5", girth was about 11" this morning(sorry about the crappy pic, tape got twisted) on a Texas rigged redshad green flake 7" gambler ribbon tail with a 5/0

  • Color Change: My color choice is determined by how bright it is outside along with the clarify of water. Clear skys and clear water I'll go with a natural color like black/brown/white or black/green/y

U figure right? So I got gifted a berkley lightning rod. MH/F looking for a cheap real to put on it. Been trolling fleabay....Abu Torno...Quantum lite....ten bucks. LOL

  • Super User

Spend the money and get something decent. Those rods are under rated, they are very good for the money. Comparable to some $100 rods IMO. Spinning or casting?

MCS, I think the daylight saving time, knocked the wind out of a lot people's sails. Mine included. When we had people fishing and posting, the momentum of the conversations began. With the holidays upon us soon, I get the feeling, momentum will slow down. I will be around, to keep this afloat.

The weather and the lack of time in the day has really hurt my fishing time. Hoping to get out soon though.

I was out today and was hoping to post something but I cannot figure out this bite right now.......the winds are ripping making bottom bouncing tough, and they won't touch a moving bait for me at the moment.  I managed one today around 16 inches but didn't bother ASSuming I would find them as the day went on.  After the front pushes through and the weather stabilizes maybe it will turn them on over here???

You need to find protected water out of the wind and chop. The fish will be waiting there.

^^^this. My first 19 two weeks ago was taken in a protected cove out of the wind. Now today the whole lake was chop but the two I got were in the area of least disturbance.

Today's top times: 9-11am, 3:30-4:30pm, and 9-11pm. Good luck.

I'm only fishing on the weekends and even then I'm ensnared in wedding nonsense and planning a football party coming up! We are taking the kids to Okeechobee for some wildlife thing to see the gatorboys. The poles will probably take a ride lol.

That's what I was thinking, I was out there for 6 hours hoping to find that "magic window" as I have in the past during incoming fronts.  I started working windblown areas, moved to a couple coves near some wind blown currents.  I downsized a bit after moving baits weren't getting it done to a trick worm and a creature bait.  NADA!!! haha, How's Okeechobee, thinking about going back there in a week or so??

Caught this one on Tuesday evening before the blow.  All this toad talk had me using a white frog (sorry for the Blurrrrrrr)

..from the kayak...

This cold front w/ strong wind and DST is creating some tough conditions! I've only been out a couple times but I've been favoring the lipless crank and swimbait (heavier of my lures.) Whats your go-to for windy conditions?
