Suck on this Gambler!   P.S. On a t-rigged 6" green zoom lizard, 3/16 bullet weight, 3/0 EWG hook, 50# green braid. Dropped across a canal into some cover, let it dropped, and before it hit the bot

  • I'm in and I will start us off. Got this 19.5", girth was about 11" this morning(sorry about the crappy pic, tape got twisted) on a Texas rigged redshad green flake 7" gambler ribbon tail with a 5/0

  • Color Change: My color choice is determined by how bright it is outside along with the clarify of water. Clear skys and clear water I'll go with a natural color like black/brown/white or black/green/y

how do you expect to fish? I can't cast, set hook, and reel it in for you lol

But when you are good we are hitting up Ponte Vedra one weekend I haven't been there in months and I found 3 new spots around Bartram that we need to hit up, I only fished one of them though for a little bit with Sarah.

Where at? Let me know I might be able to give you a pointer or two if I have fished them

Just got back was out for little under a hour. Had 3 strikes on a white frog, 30# braid, covering Lilly pads.

Funny story I cast out to a patch of pads and let the frog sit until the ripples are gone, little technique I use with the hollow bodies. I texted Dsidle61 to see if he wanted to do some fishing this weekend and 3 minutes after that on the retrieve I caught this 19". Got her as I was reeling the frog in to recast she probably hit it about 5 yards from shore.

I will let DS tell the second part of the story lol it's crazy how things work out.

Jacksonville is starting off right between MCS, DS, and myself. As Jaxbasser said its most likely due to the cold front coming in. You S FL guys will probably have a good weekend too!

Not sure if I provided all the info LGM wanted, if I am missing anything let me know

haha as AK said ive got a bit of a story for you guys.  I was up  in georgia this afternoon for work and im heading back home around 5pm and i decided to stop at my spot on my way home bc i knew as soon as i got home i was gonna crash.  So i stopped by the pond, was working the banks w frogs (pad crasher jr and ribbit) for about 30 min with no luck.  I got a text from AK asking if i was heading out this weekend, 3 minutes later another text telling me he caught a nice 19" on a frog.  I was just about to the end of the pond so i figured id finish out the 10 min and text back.  Sure 2 minutes after i get his text BOOM my frog gets annihilated.  I saw it from the hit and knew it was a pig.  she was a jumper too so im burying my rod trying to keep it down and praying it doesnt spit me.  I get the head out of the water on shore and snap! there goes my rod tip i quickly snatched my line and drug it on shore.  Ill call this 21" bc my tape was a bit off and weighed in at 6lbs (like a true fisherman im doubting the accuracy of my scale lol ive held 6 pounds before and i thought for sure this one was 7-8).  but with 6 pounds thats my personal best! and second time in 2 weeks ive caught my PB at this pace ill have a 10# by the end of the month hahahaha.  Ill put this in the big fish category just to give you southies something to beat by 3-4 pounds here soon lol.  For LMG this was caught at 530pm on a ribbit frog louisana craw color, 30#braid, ultra light rod (which is now broken lol) caught it over open water about 20 feet off shore.  nothing special just a straight retrieve.  and by the way IM IN!!

I documented Dsidle and AK's catch. Way to get on the board quick. Dsidle nice pig. Best part, you caught it on the frog!!!

Awesome fish Dsidle. Congrats on the PB. Catching a hawg makes breaking a rod feel worth it doesn't it?

Here are my catches for the day. I went to the park and caught a 14" swimming a stick worm Okeechobee color on the surface. I was using 10lb yozuri, with 1/16 weight, and a 2/0 gami hook. The second fish went for 17" I caught this one, on the same outfit, weight, and hook. The lure however was a wm seed centipede.

FYI everyone today has been a record day. Our first day of the month and we have 18 people and counting participating so far. We still have some former participants that have not come back yet, and I sent out some more additional invites . Let see if these individuals are interested to come on board. Just remember, I will let everyone know who all the participants are on WED. Good job everybody, and Welcome back.

Yes absolutely.  Especially since it was a 5 foot ultra light rod lol i knew it was gonna go at some point but thats been the only rod ive owned since i was about 12 years old so its like losing a friend lol. It worked fine up in pennsylvania catching 1-2 pounders but just wasnt gonna hang down here.  Now im gonna be in search of a new rod, im accepting suggestions from anyone lol.  im a spinning reel guy so thats what im after.

It definitely is!

Caylub I had a similar experience to DS few months back I caught my PB, length wise 24" but my reel broke lol, had to do the same thing grab the line and bring her in. It is definitely worth it and Academy gave me the $80 my reel cost in store credit so I used that towards a new reel.

Yall should make a YouTube channel "Hand fishing with Dsidle and Ak". I have had to bring one in by hand before but to my disappointment it was a catfish. My rods get broken in transport more than by fish but if I break it fishing then going shopping is justifiable to my wife. Lol.

Nice fish everyone.

Congrats Dsidle on that PB.

It depends on what u wanna spend for a rod. If you want to spend around $100 then options open up and I would recommend a bass pro Carbonlite. Best for the money, I think 4 of us in this comp own them.

I own two of them, 1 bc, and 1 spinner. They are great rods and for the $$ even better.

Well I went out today from 5pm to 7pm. Got 6 or 7 bass, the largest on was 16" so nothing worth posting :(

Did however hook into a NICE snakehead, must have been 6-7 lbs and put up a very nice fight!

Oh yea, I was using Lizards and Space Monkey, Senko didn't catch any fish today, weird...

Good luck to whomever goes out tomorrow. I am signing off for the day. Great job today everybody.

I was right, the fish were on FIRE today. Caught 12 fish in about 2 hours of fishing.

All of these fish were caught on a Redbug U-Vibe Speedworm, 30# Suffix 832, 7'1 MF *** Black, Lews SS Tournament. I was pulling the speedworm across the surface near pads, grasslines, and submerged vegetation.

I needed a fast start. After time rolls back I'll only be able to fish like twice a week instead of the 3-5 I do now.

What did you do with the snakehead Martin? Nice job Jaxbasser you have thrown down the gauntlet. Glad to see you were able to get out as well BassinLou. I'm gonna wet a hook tomorrow for the first time in over a month.

I'll  be sort of limited timewise this month to 4 or 5 days fishing.  Hopefully last month's curse has worn off  ... I'm in.

Wow amazing! I'm going to take my future stepson with me in the morning. His dad is stuck taking his sister to cheerleading :D
