Uncle Josh MAXX Pork???

Featured Replies

Uncle Josh MAXX Pork Phantom Craw trailers. Do these have enough buoyancy to actually "stand up" in a defensive position like a real craw?

IMO they have more buoyancy than any other trailer... so yes, they'll stand up real well.

Just gotta make sure that the thick fatty claws don't double back over your hook point, or you'll never hook a fish.

I'll keep an eye on it. I'm going to try the finesse size first. I don't like a super bulky jig.

I was looking at getting some to. I read an article that pork has better action in colder waters than plastic. Figure I'd give it a try.

That is true. The only reason I don't use them 12 months of the year is because in the dead heat of the summer it's hard to keep them from drying out. I thinbk they have a more realistic feel to the fish and probably have a better taste than plastic. Just my two cents...

i would have to think they definately feel and taste more natural than plastics. i guess i'll have to get some and see for myself

So how do YOU guys rig it. Fat side up or down. I ask because I believe that it's a preference. I personally go fat side down allowing to let the pincers float up better.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, I've never used this particular Uncle Josh trailer before, only the originals.

Stop jacking me fool! j/k

I've always rigged them the way the pic on the bottle is. Unless, I'm using a (example) black/chartruese and want the black side up or vice versa. I've never used the MAXX pork trailers before but I'm sure I'll go for whichever way is more conducive to making the claws stand up higher.
