Why do you think soft plastics fishing lures like worms and creature baits dry out? Most soft plastic lasts for decades. Some brands may get a little stiffer then they were new, putting oil on them doesn't soften them, only reheating in boiling water will soften stiffened soft plastics. Oil will make them slippery or sticky, depending on the oil used. Glycerin oil with a few drops of pure anise oil works as a good attractant without damaging the molded soft plastic lures.

A few drops of "oil" in a zip lock bag is all that is needed.

Never had plastics "dry out."  Gulp baits dry out, but they have their own juice in the bucket to bring them back.  Got any pics of dried out plastics?

Never thought bout putting them in a pot of boiling water. Only one Ive seen dry out is the gulp. Without the juice they are twigs.

My plastics don't dry out but I save all the used and torn ones and them melt them and make senkos and finess worms out of them. I got the plunger type molds from Jann's net craft and they work great.

Gulp must be kept wet or it will dry out. I don't believe boiling Gulp will rehydrate it?

Yeah gulp seem to be worm cut sponges lol... Ive made them soft again with just warm/hot water bath too ... Weird how they are the only ones.that come with liquid in the bag that dry out so bad some people think they are trash.
