fishing with worms

Featured Replies

i did 2 things that improved my worm fishing tremendously.

bigger worms. i never throw a worm <12 inches.

slow down. i use a 3.8:1 curado and it forces me to slow down. you won't get as many bites, but the bites you get are usually better fish.

you need to be in that 10-20 of water thats were all my big bass come from , i will use a bead in dirty water and beadless in clear , i will use 2 retrieves one is shaky on the bottom and then hop it shake again , i will do this right back to the boat ,i also will do a one revolution of the reel and pause 5 seconds then do it again all the way back to the boat (kinda like dragging it ) , for me these 2 ways work very well for catching big bass , if i had to guess you should be fishing where the boat is sitting , my2cents

As a fellow Floridian, I can tell you that before I started using rage tails, I used to use nothing but Culprits, thanks to my father. The 10" worms in Purple and red shad colors were all I needed for big FL bass, just make sure you fish it slow and if that isn't working, go slower. You can also try some megastrike attractant, It works! :)

One of these days I need to hook up with you to see that.  I just can't imagine using a reel that slow.  What do you do if a fish starts running right at you?  Just crank like all hell?
