My dad was able to buy a new Triton x17 and lucky for me I got to benefit from his good fortune as well..  I now have a bass boat and I am super pumped!!

Took it out the other day and tried to come out the hole with the motor trimmed up a little too far, lessons learned..  It was really great to be able to go from spot so spot at 50mph and fish on a flat deck with nice trolling motor..  I am so thankful to be lucky enough to hae received this..  I wanted to share this good news!

Congrats on the boat. I have an 08 Tacoma 2.7 and it will pull it barely but stopping is going to be the issue. I towed my pontoon with it once and it nearly dragged me down the ramp and into the water. While you could get to the ramp and back it's not safe.

If your Toy has an automatic trans yes it will pull it. But is it safe. I'm not to sure. The truck most likely doesn't weigh enough to be safe for stoping it. Stoping is always what bites you. Now would I pull with it. Heck yea! Lol.

But give your self lots of stoping distance from the vehicle in front of you. And it's not going to do the brakes any good. It might glaze over the rotors.

Hydra sports used to be one of the lighter brand boats. But I don't no if that's still true.

No idea of the actual weight you might actually be fine I'm not for sure.

Soon as my grandma bought her new then 99 Toyota T. I hauled 28 8 inch block in it. Pulled away with more power then I'd have ever thought. I've owned two older ones myself. There tuff little buggers.

Now days people will pull with vehicles that don't even have frames. Lol least your safe there.

The newer the truck the better the brakes will be and heavier as well.

Shouldn't there be a tag on the boat or trailer of the gross weight like campers?

I got a 1979 14.5 hydra sport with. 90 hp complete with power trim. For a x/ mas bonus from my old boss some odd years ago. I was tickled. Good little boat.

I'm guessing that one is 18 ft.

thanks for all the well wishes....  Our other family car is a Tahoe so that's what I have been pulling it with - will probably keep doing this for a while and not risk it with the Tacoma...  happy fishing!

Can it be pulled?... sure... but what Insanity said, might be stopping that's a problem. That truck is probably rated for 3000-3500lbs towing, so figure out the weight of the boat/trailer and go from there. 

 

Congrats on the boat buddy! I know it was SUCH an amazing feeling to finally get on my OWN REAL BOAT and catch some fish. It's such a luxury when you think about it. I definitely feel like a million bucks when ever I bring the boat out!

We towed an 1989 18ft bumble bee and a now a 1999 stratos 273 vindicator with a 6 cylinder Hyundai Santa Fe with no problems at all you barley even know it's there check and see if the trailer has brakes because that could be a very useful thing

That looks like my boat same color and all lol i like mine a lot just take it easy on the towing and break earlier and u should be fine as long as you don't pull it on a lot of steep grades or really long hauls. I've pulled mine with my wifes ford escape

when I had my tracker I did this on the second outing. Was fishing a small private strip pit. I had a #2 emergency, ran to the shore and forgot to pull up the TM. ripped the screws out of the frame, but that was after the TM shaft bent to all hell. I gave the boat to my dad, but the TM still works. Its just a "tad" bent.
