A Bait Saved From a Terrible Fate! (and they're on sale!)

So the wife and I were in Gander Mountain the other day, looking through the clearance bins, and I see a Yo-Zuri Rattl'N Vibe in perch color so I snag it. Then I hear the wife say: "Oh, here's a pretty one, you can take the hooks off and I can use it as a Christmas tree ornament." So I look over and it's another Rattl-N Vibe in perch. No way could I let a great bait be degraded by getting turned into a Christmas tree ornament so I "appropriated" that one from her before that could happen. ;D

It's a great looking bait for sure:

And it works as shown below.

AND, the price was $2.95. :) There's none left at the Gander Mountain in Knoxville TN - check your local stores !

Just recently caught 8 in 20 mins on a lipless crank.  Glad you got em while you could  :)

I usually fish Strike King Red Eye Shads, but also had a few of the Yo-Zuri's that I got on sale last year. So, I knew the Yo-Zuri bait was a fish-catcher and I couldn't pass up a $2.95 price...considering Rattl'N Vibes are usually around $8. :)

Yo-Zuri makes awesome lipless cranks.  If you come across any, try the Yo-Zuri Hardcore Shad.  I think it is not only the best Yo-Zuri lipless, but one of the best regardless of manufacturer.

Those hardcore shads are great.  Hell, all of the hardcore line are great.  I just wish they weren't so pricey.

I'll snag any Yo-Zuri bait in the clearance bin if they're marked WAY down...but at full price, they're above my price range :-?

Ummm - there was also one Yo-Zuri Hardcore JB-90SB suspending minnow (jerkbait) in the clearance bin. I didn't see this bait on the Yo-Zuri web site so perhaps it's been discontinued. I did find the bait on eBay...for $12.95 :) I paid $2.95 for it ... 8-)

I've got a few of those minnows in different sizes.  Such an awesome lure.  Largemouth love them, but the Peacocks down here on my lake absolutely devour them.  I hope those aren't discontinued.  I'll have to look into it.

Gander definitely had some good sales going on this past weekend, even though probably different for most all stores. I actually work at the Flint MI Gander, and other than some of the other old overstock, we actually had Rapala DT's on sale for the low-low price of 2.99 a piece! I'm guessing because they were Sureset ones that nobody likes, but I have no problem fishing with them and replacing hooks as I see fit. Being I was victim of a stolen tackle box, I pick through when I was finally off work and brought home 22 DT's in different depths, colors and styles. It's too bad that there were nearly no natural colored baits when I got to them, but oh well. I feel like a fisherman again now that I have most of my favorite patterns back.

Eric - I couldn't find the JB-90 series on the Yo-Zuri web site nor at TW, BPS, etc. Hope you have better luck.

BTW - I wish there Peacock bass when I lived in South Florida and was fishing on Tamiami Trail, Alligator Alley, the canals along Krome Avenue, etc. - but that was the 1960s! ;D

Looks like most of the ones that I have are the SH series, not the JB.  Only have a couple of the JB line in my crank box.  Either way, great lures.

Lol I bet you do. They were introduced in 84 I believe. Such a great fishery to have.

I hope to get mine in the same condition !

Yozuri makes one of the best lipless baits out there, terrific deal. I've also done well with their Ghost color.

If you mean their color code GSGL (Ghost Bluegill) I have one of those - it's still NIB - I'll get around to fishing it someday :)
