What Would You Throw?

Featured Replies

We've had a couple of unusually warm days around here and some of the ice is starting to melt.  I'm gonna go out on Wednesday to try to get some pickerel or bass.  Assuming i can find a spot to fish what would be some lures to start with?

Can't go wrong with a jig. Fish Super slow and patience is the key. Good luck!

Jerk bait ~

Both good options listed above.  Never hesitate to listen to A-Jay's advice, he's a clever fellow.

Looks like there's still a lot of ice out on the water, guess I'll wait until spring

I agree with Jerkbait

If you're targeting chain pickerel, a 'Jig & Dead Minnow' would really be tough to beat (any species of minnow)

I was throwing a blade bait in the spots that were not covered with ice today. I snagged a shad and that was it. Some guys were catching bass on jerkbaits until all the lakes froze 2 weeks ago.
