Daiwa Cielo Rods?

Featured Replies

So has anyone fished these, have any experience with them. They look pretty nice, just wondering about there performance and weight. Mostly the bottom contact rods. They are kind of cheap now, so possibly get a whole new system going if they're worth it. I'm slowly really starting to like Daiwa after turning my head to them for awhile (probably slowly starting to replace my reels with Tatula's and Lew's). I know the Cielo's are not new, I think they might even be in the process of being phased out. Just looking for some input.

Thanks

The first gen cielo is a great rod if you can still find them. I believe they were built on a steez blank. I have no intel on the second gen.

I just received my 7' 11" Heavy Fast flippin rod. As it is the middle of winter here in MN I have not been able to use it yet. It feels nice, balances about 3-4" past the reel (Tatula R).

Good rod. Some people don't like the cork/foam mix but I like it. I would prefer cork all the way down just because of looks, but very nice sensitive rod. It is a hair on the heavy side but nothing that's really going to wear your arm out.
