Best Credit Card Rewards For Bass Anglers?

Recommended Posts

Alright, here is the deal.

I am looking for a credit card that gives rewards that are something I will actually use (i.e. fishing gear). My current credit card has a very lame rewards program that is pretty much worthless to me.

So which one is the best to have?

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's seem mediocre but are they actually the best?

There was a thread about this not to long ago....anyways my recommendation is a cash back rewards card.  I am currently using the Capital One Quicksilver card as it is 1.5% back on everything and i can get a check, donate to charity or have it applied to the balance on the card.  American Express also has a decent rewards card called blue or something that is worth checking into.

I personally stay away from any store branded cards as they usually limit their use of the rewards to their stores.  I know on mine i use it to pay for daycare each month and gas in the Jeep and I am always shocked at how quickly it adds up....

I actually have a Capital One card too that I never use. They told me I could get that QuickSilver deal but offered little information (during an online chat with a rep).

Thanks for the info.

We use the  BPS Master Card and so far it is OK.

I am sure there are others out there that can give you a stronger reward but for now we will stay with the BPS card.

They actually changed my card to the quicksilver through the chat feature so you may have just gotten a lazy rep lol

I also think when you log in to online banking under the account menu there is a section called modify your features that sometiems show the upgrades you are eligible for so you may be able to do it without human interaction :)  those are my favorite kinds of transactions lol

He wanted to sign me up but couldnt give me any information about it.

I signed up for it today.

I am going to try to buy everything online with it through my Ebate account so I can double dip.

Anyone that wants to get ebates let me know and I will send you a link. I got a $10 Wal-Mart gift card

just for signing up using the link someone sent me. The program is easy too. You just go to the ebates

site and then click whatever store you want to shop at and that is it.

AMEX Platinum.

Great card, perks, and rewards.  Better than the Centurion actually.  That card is only good for impressing people.  you get all the useful help with the platinum without the $2,500 annual fee.

What are some of the benefits because that thing has a pretty steep annual fee at $450 a year.
