Some Terminal Advice Needed

Featured Replies

I'm starting to consolidate my terminal, in terms of what is necessary to have. What sizes and types of hooks do you guy alway keep in your boxes?

What's size weights? I don't do much punching or heavy flipping so I have not need for real heavy stuff.

If you just want to try something "special", the GYCB Custom Gamakatsu was designed by Gary

himself. It has some angle adjustment, but most importantly it is thin wire and PERFECT for small

and mid-sized soft plastics.

Hooks:    2/0 or 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG offset worm hook; size 1 Owner mosquito hooks for wacky rigging or drop shot.

Weights:   3/8 to 1/2 oz bullet sinkers for carolina rig;  1/8 but usually 1/4 oz tube jigs;  1/4 oz darter head/round head for grubs and worms;  1/2 oz dropshot weights.

I fish clear deep lakes much of the time, so I'll resort to the 1/4 and 1/2 oz weights if going deeper than 15 feet, so it depends on where you are fishing.

Hooks

EWG 2/0-6/0

Straight Shank flip 3/0-6/0

Weighted hooks 3/0 -6/0

Tungsten weights

1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1.5

You can probably stop at 1/2 or 3/4 since you dont do alot of heavy work.

I also keep a hand full of jig heads, both the wacky football variety and straight shank ball head.

1/16, 1/8, 1/4
